United Galactic Nation Memorandum

On June 4th, 3072, the space station Prosperity, belonging to the Lemming Mining and Terraforming Incorporated, held the UGN Anniversary Ball of Diversity. The newest seat of the Lemming Inc., Prosperity was the best place to commemorate the humanity’s commitment to versatility and expansion.

Created to the most modern design standards, the station consists of sections built from the materials Lemming Inc. mines on their terraformed planets.

Not a single location has been omitted, thus highlighting the spread and the might of human ingenuity. The long-standing supporter of the UGN’s initiatives, Lemming Inc. looks for the most differing planets to create opportunities for new evolutional waves.
In accordance with the Ball’s theme, the guests all demonstrated the newest implant models, which allow the cosmetic changes, to look like a different human subspecies. The implant version 3-8-W-O was designed by the Trinity Holding with the use of the latest holomorphic tissue technology. Trinity’s CEO Markus Jabberling, boasting an elongated skull of the Raj-1 planet – a physiological trait that allows the co-existence of two smaller brains, one working on oxygen, the other on methane – said at the ceremony, “3-8-W-O does not let you to switch into any species. Yet. But it is important to celebrate the diversity of what Homo sapiens have become. The implant brings you closer to other subspecies, no matter how far away they are. We shall remember that the genetic diversity does not stop us all from being Homo Sapiens.”
The same theme sounded in the opening speech of UGN Secretary Wu Ling Yun. With a mastery trick of implant programmers, he kept his own face while acquiring the gleaming fluid body of an Orcanian with its famous fin spine and gill-pores. “The humanity was blessed with the discovery of the gene-viral therapy. We have learnt not only to adapt the nature to us but tweak ourselves to fit into nature. We shortened the way for our terraforming processes as we now change the planets only mildly, to preserve the richness of their materials. The other step forward is taken by us – the bold guided evolution. Centuries ago, our ancestors said we were destroying the Homo sapiens and erasing the true genotype. What they did not realise was that the evolution had to be sped up and expanded into forms it would not think of. Back then, we had a choice of technologizing our bodies – a costly procedure, which would have to be repeated again and again on each new member of the community and might ruin the environment even more. But here we are now, having found a way to preserve the essence of the human while allowing it the many forms of expression. On the 850th Anniversary of the human diversification, we possess a wide unrepetitive pull of compatible genes, which in the future will give us even more versatility. We are consolidated in our diversity. We are the masters of the circumstances and conditions, and a wonderful path lies ahead of us.”
Thanks to the generous donations of UGN’s various partners during the Ball (see the sponsor list attached), a new series of collaborations and research were announced. UGN is proud to lend its mechanisms and expertise for further exploration of the universe and the introduction of more subspecies.

Andras pulled the isotherm jacket off the solitary hanger and donned it over the grey-blue, graphite one-piece suit of his uniform. He ran his palms over the soft squishy material, patting the many pockets, feeling every crack in the worn fabric. Today, however, it did not bring him comfort.

Donghyun flipped the spoon on the table – the sound echoed through the empty refectory like a ghost. However, as his plant soup was cooling, his attention was stolen by what had to be another apparition on the screen of his tablet.

She could see the LEDs flaring through the door opening but did not rush to follow. She had no desire to meet those mutants again, whoever they were. It was easy for the voice to say they were irrelevant and then use them to capture her. However, she could not be hiding here forever. In the end, if the voice wanted, they could send those creatures here.

The very top sector of “Cheonsa” was the place where Alaya felt she could be alone and undisturbed. Although she still reached from here to the farthest corners of the station and monitored the major systems, it was her sanctuary, where she did not need to devote her processes to communication or anything above the basic maintenance.
